Pet-friendly turf is one of our most-requested installs in Houston. Natural grass takes a beating from dogs — urine spots, dig holes, and constant mud after thunderstorms. Synthetic turf solves all three with a drainage-engineered base, antimicrobial infill, and a permeable backing that lets liquids flow straight through.
Our pet turf system uses a deeper, more porous base than a standard residential install — typically 4 inches of crushed granite over a geotextile fabric — so urine and rinse water drain through to the subgrade. We use antimicrobial infill (Envirofill, ZeoFill, or equivalent) that neutralizes ammonia odors at the source. Fibers are lead-free and ASTM-certified safe for pets and kids.
Maintenance is straightforward: rinse the area weekly with a hose, scoop solid waste as you would on grass, and brush the fibers upright every few months. For multi-dog households we recommend an enzyme rinse monthly. The system is built to handle daily heavy pet use for 15+ years.
