Backyard turf installation is the most common project we do in Houston. Most homeowners convert because their natural grass burns out by July, the dogs have turned the yard into mud and dirt, or they are spending hundreds a month on irrigation and mowing.
A full backyard conversion typically covers 800 to 3,000 sq ft and integrates around existing pool decks, patios, planters, and trees. We can leave decorative beds in place, work around mature root systems, and tie turf cleanly into existing hardscape.
Houston backyards benefit from a deeper drainage base than average given our heavy rainfall and clay soils. We spec at least a 3 to 4 inch compacted base on every backyard install and grade subtly away from the home foundation.
